This harmful substance known as amygdin can disrupt the normal functioning of the dog’s blood. The toxic effects of amygdlin can only be felt if the dog has ingested large amounts of apple seeds. A few seeds ingested will not cause the dog harm as the dog can easily detoxify itself.

Chocolate is well known to have dangerous and potentially fatal effects on dogs. Chocolate is a favorite comfort food of humans but this food is poisonous to dogs. In dogs, ingestion of chocolates would cause accelerated heart beats and rapid pulse as the theobromine in choocolates stimulates the dog’s nervous system. In some dogs, ingestion of chocolates would only result to vomiting and diarrhea. However, in some dogs, chocolate ingestion will result to tremors and seizures that can lead to the death of the dog.
