How To Lose Weight Gain From Pregnancy The Healthy Way

Most of us would like to be at our ideal weight to look and feel good, however losing weight can be one of the most difficult goals to accomplish. Taking off pounds after pregnancy can be even more challenging.

As you work to get the weight off, don’t beat yourself up about it. A normal amount of weight gain during pregnancy happens for a reason and you shouldn’t expect to loose it immediately.

Why not set short term goals as you progress on your weight loss journey? Try taking it a week at a time. For example, tell yourself for that week you will have no treats or walk everyday.

By setting short term goals it makes the finish line seem closer. You will be encouraged by these little victories and have the motivation to continue. It also helps to have a visual image of why you want to change your body. A picture of yourself at a smaller size or a dress you would like to fit in are two suggestions.

Those visuals should be where you can see them on a regular basis. Often people don’t achieve their goals because they don’t write them down or have a dramatic visual to remind them of what they will look like when they reach their goal weight. Just reminding yourself of your goals won’t always be enough.

Don’t let your baby become an excuse for not losing the pregnancy weight. Many women have children and get back down to their pre-pregnancy weight.

It helps to think about the overall impact weight loss will have on your health. Being at a healthy weight will make you feel good, give you confidence and help you avoid health problems.

Try seeing food just as sustenance and not as an experience. Divorce the sensuality and decadence from it. On your weight loss journey you will find that there are many foods that taste good and are healthy. You may find that yogurt and fresh strawberries drizzled with balsamic vinegar is as delicious as strawberry ice cream.

Losing weight can be taxing but the joy of motherhood makes it all worth it. So eat healthy, exercise, and enjoy your time with your baby and before you know it, your body will be back on track!
